Website Redesign for Mevlana e.V. — Mindful Web Design for a Heartfelt Association

Every association has its own soul. Its values, its actions, its people. That is exactly what I was able to translate during the relaunch of the Website of Mevlana e.V. into a suitable, vibrant web design.

Web design for associations For me, this means much more than just creating a beautiful facade. It is about creating digital spaces that make the essence of the community tangible — while also being functional, clear, and inviting. This was my goal for this heartfelt project.

A place for encounter, education, and culture: Mevlana e.V.

The Mevlana Cultural and Educational Association is much more than a registered association. It is a place of encounter – for people of all ages, cultures, and life realities. The association is committed to intercultural educational work, organizes events, promotes integration, and provides spaces for exchange, togetherness, and spiritual inspiration. This complexity should also be reflected in the new web design.

My task was to create a digital presence that makes the heart of this association visible: openness, community, education, togetherness. It was important to me not just to design an aesthetic website – but one that breathesdoes not overwhelm, but invites. One that does not explain, but touches.

With every design decision, I asked myself: How does it feel for the user who is visiting this page for the first time? What do people need when they are looking for orientation, connection, or a cultural anchor point? The answer lay in a clearly structured, mindful web designthat inspires rather than overwhelms, guides rather than instructs, supports rather than distracts.

What was the initial situation?

The old website of the association had become outdated. Not optimized for mobile, visually overloaded, difficult to navigate – and above all: no longer in harmony with what Mevlana e.V. lives and embodies today. It was time for a mindful relaunch that brings content, structure, and design into harmony.

Mindful web design – what does that mean specifically?

Mindful Web Design means for me: design with feeling. Technology with depth. Content that is allowed to breathe. Therefore, for Mevlana e.V., I particularly focused on the following aspects:

  • White Space – conscious empty spaces that provide rest for the eyes and clarity for the mind. The content should breathe. Nothing should be overwhelming.
  • Gentle Typography – calm, easily readable fonts that give the reader space to focus on the essentials.
  • Atmospheric Photos – authentic insights into club life, lovingly selected. People at the center. Life, encounters, connection.
  • Color Concept – the warm, natural green of the logo subtly flows into the design and creates a harmonious connection between the logo, content, and imagery.
  • Photo Galleries – at the request of the association, I integrated vibrant image sequences that document events and convey emotions.

The result? A website that touches the heart, rather than just functioning. Clear. Warm. Personal.

Target group-oriented design for the association

The website targets a diverse audience: members, interested parties, supporters – from young to old. The navigation is intentional simply structured, with a clear focus on:

  • Current Club Life (e.g. through the "Events" page)
  • Information about the club – easily accessible and understandable
  • Contact Options, which appear inviting and build trust

The new Event page is a true centerpiece of the site. It not only helps organize the daily activities of the association but also brings structure to interactions. Appointments are quickly findable, clearly listed – lovingly maintained with attention to detail.

Web design for associations – with empathy and structure

Associations thrive on engagement, encounters, and community. This is exactly what a website should reflect – without shouting loudly. My focus is always on a Balance of clarity, emotion, and technology. User-friendly and search engine optimized. Modern yet warm-hearted.

I firmly believe: Web design should evoke feelings.

For Mevlana e.V., a space was created online that not only informs – but connects. It inspires. It opens up.

What makes good web design for associations?
  • SimplicityVisitors can find their way immediately – whether young or old, digitally savvy or less familiar with technology.
  • IdentityColors, images, and language reflect the character of the organization.
  • FunctionalityEverything is technically clean, responsive, and accessible.
  • Emotionality: The design appeals not only to the eye but also to the heart.
Conclusion: Web design with soul

Web design for associations means building bridges – between technology and emotion, between function and form, between structure and humanity. The relaunch of the Mevlana e.V. website shows how strong mindful web design can have an impact when it focuses on what is essential: putting people at the center.

Through the targeted use of white space, calm typography, warm colors, and emotional imagery, a digital home was created that builds trust. The website is now a place where new members feel welcome, existing members are better informed – and the association is as present online as it is in real life: connecting, loving, clear.
