When wood speaks, it tells stories through its grain. This feeling should also be conveyed by the website of the carpentry FS40 from Hanover – digital yet tangible. I designed and implemented the web design for Friedrich Schrader, master carpenter and owner of FS40, focusing on mindful web design, a clear structure and a visual language that touches the heart. The goal: a website that is as authentic as the craft itself.
Reduction that works – design with white space and natural aesthetics
The website radiates calm. I consciously avoided loud colors and effects. Instead, there is a lot of white space – not as emptiness, but as an invitation to pause. The spaces create clarity, direct the gaze to the essentials, and allow the high-quality photos of the carpentry to speak for themselves.
The color choice is restrained and earthy – muted tones, plenty of white, natural wood tones. They reflect the materials with which the carpentry works and strengthen the feeling of craftsmanship, authenticity, and groundedness.
The human at the center – target group-oriented web design
The target audience of this page? People with standards. Clients looking for individual solutions – whether for interior design, custom-made furniture, or extraordinary turning work. People who prioritize quality over quantity, who live sustainable values.
That’s why it was clear to me: This website must speak – not shout. It must inspire – not overwhelm. And it must build trust. This is achieved through a clear layout, understandable navigation, and content that directly shows what makes the company special: a passion for wood and love for detail.
Services that can be showcased
A central component of the website is the presentation of the diverse services:
- Furniture Construction & Furniture Design
- Interior Construction
- Turning Work
- Yacht Interior Construction
- Restoration & Repair
- Special projects like 3D Wave Wood
These services are not just listed, but presented visually and content-wise in high quality – with images and text, tailored for SEO and user experience.
Movement that does not distract – but invigorates
Silence is beautiful. But the digital must also breathe. To give the site liveliness, I have subtly Scroll Effects incorporated: objects move gently while scrolling, content fades in softly. Short videos have also been integrated – they showcase work processes or the effect of finished spaces. All of this makes the craftsmanship tangible without overwhelming.

SEO: be visible when people search
What good is the most beautiful site if no one can find it? That’s why the website was designed from the very beginning SEO-oriented built. Each subpage received its own search engine relevant content. Keywords such as "carpentry Hanover", "furniture construction Hanover", "custom-made furniture" or "turning work" were meaningfully integrated – without appearing forced.
An additional blog served as an SEO booster: Here, projects were presented, special materials explained, or insights into working methods provided. This allowed the website to grow continuously – both professionally and in content.
Social media integrated – authentic & current
Looking beyond the digital horizon was also important. The integration of Instagram and Facebook content ensured relevance and insights into the daily life of the carpentry. In this way, new interested parties were reached – and regular customers remained connected.
News section and updates: digital like a workshop window
A dedicated news section turned the website into a digital workshop window: whether it was company holidays, new projects, or trade fair participation – everything remained dynamic here. The site was understood not just as a business card, but as a living space.
Conclusion: web design for craftsmanship – with heart, clarity, and strategy
The project for the carpentry FS40 was more than just a commission for me. It was a convergence of design, craftsmanship, and humanity. That is exactly what I believe in. mindful web designA page that does not shout, but speaks. That inspires, but does not overwhelm. That gives users space while simultaneously inviting them to take action.
Even though the website is no longer online today, the design lives on – as an example of the connection between aesthetics, functionality, and authentic branding. Screenshots and the concept remain preserved, like the sketch of a successful piece of furniture: a digital unique piece.
